　　渾儀結構為內外兩層功能不同的儀器組成。其外層是固定不動的六合儀，由子午環 (天經) 、地平圈 (地渾) 、赤道圈，即天經與地渾連結而成。內層為可繞極軸東西向轉的四游環和可南北轉動的窺管 (望筒) 所組成。
